it's alright..

but the bass line is kinda ripped off :/ and so is the voice track, oh well everyone samples nowadays :/, well it doesn't sound too bad, but it's not really the most interesting thing I've ever heard

doppler73 responds:

Well, give a 5 next time.

But this is still work in progress!

alright

I think it would work if you used different instrumentation, sounds alright, but the sound is a bit harsh to the ears tbh :/, interesting song though :)

TreeDonkey responds:

I agree, the song is pretty much a kick drum and 3 synths. Then at the end I introduce a big lead in. but there are sooo many controllers changing so many effects on the sounds to make all 3 sound like one. I made this on speakers and not headphones(silly that i didnt test both), listening to it now I agree it is pretty ear tiring with headphones.
In respect to your comment on the instrumentation i think that because i only really use one sound it sounds pretty dull and boring. If i were ever to go back and work on this more i would work on adding in more sounds and more variance. I would change the side gating on my equaliser of the low-mid frequencies and add in a bass on its own to fill in the missing frequency range, the song is missing that low, deep aspect of it, it needs a nice solid bass under it.

Anyways thanks for the honest review. interesting is what i was going for so that was a great review for me. i think im carrying on a bit here so ill end my response here. thanks.

great sound

loving the wobble bass, this is nice :)

OceanPath responds:

Thanks :D

calming

that's all :)

great progression

awesome use of pitch bend there, the pitch bending is done perfectly and not overused. Also the music.. is a very hyping sort, yeah this would go awesome with some fast paced games :) (yeah it has already lol) well good work man :)

GameBalance responds:

Effing Meteors ^_^

great song

the fast paced rhythm is very fitting, and the blues sounding piano melody and rhythm fit perfectly, it's very good work you did here, lol nice song to do some retared dancing to :P

predictable

ok, it's got a nice loungey sound, the slow crescendo, the constant unchanging drumbeat, well it sounds all well.. but one word to sum it all up.. predictable
but yeah it doesn't sound bad :)

meh

ok I checked out your other tracks.. and ok I'll compare and contrast.. I don't see any progression here, I mean they all sound alright, but the thing is, they all sound very similar, and it stops getting interesting quick, because I don't see any growth or change in your work, it's always the same 4/4 time signature you use, 4 chord structure, this is the kind of stuff you can easily do while improvising, sorry, doesn't really grab my attention.. on the other hand doesn't sound bad :)

alright

idk.. but I think it sounds half-assed.. like you just took some loops and put them together. Anyways if you didn't do that, the chord progression is very simple, and the 4/4 time, I guess it gets boring really fast, that's just the thing that killed it for me.. it sounded flat, and like, didn't really go anywhere...

the melody is mainly good

however, there is really a big lack of variation here, and instrumentation. Adding bass would be nice, the drums were pretty alright, but the melody repeated itself too much, there's no real excitement point here, but anyways good effort (y)

Dj187 responds:

got a point, but its still a working progress so i'll look into that, thanks
